Graduated in ophthalmology at UZLeuven and specialized in medical disorders of the retina (medical retina) and eyelid and tear duct surgery. Before this, Dr. Demeuleneere completed a fellowship in oculoplastic, tear duct and orbital surgery at the Rotterdam eye hospital in 2024-2025.
Dr. Wouters obtained her Master of Medicine degree in 2022 at KU Leuven. She completed her specialization in ophthalmology at UZ Leuven and spent part of her training at AZ Sint-Lucas Bruges, AZ Turnhout, and the Rotterdam Eye Hospital (The Netherlands). In 2025, she was awarded the title of Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO). She is currently pursuing a part-time fellowship in medical retina at UZ Leuven under the supervision of Prof. Dr. J. Jacob, as well as a fellowship in cataract surgery under the supervision of Dr. Riestra.
In addition to general ophthalmology, her main interests focus on the medical management of retinal diseases and on cataract surgery.
Dr Gelin De Raeymaecker studied medicine at KU Leuven and continued her training in general ophthalmology at UZ Leuven, the Jan Yperman Hospital, and Oculus in Ypres.
She has a special interest in glaucoma and further specialized in this field through a European Glaucoma Society fellowship at UZ Leuven during the 2024–2025 academic year.
